THE STORY

Mallori first touched clay when she was 6 years old. Later on in life, in 2014, she began taking ceramics courses through a local community college in San Diego, CA. She loved the art form but it didn't really stick until she moved to Seattle, WA in 2019. Since it rains so much in Seattle she was determined to find a passion, while staying inside (and dry). She signed up for a monthly membership at a local community studio and began selling her pieces at the end of 2019.

Well, the ceramics stuck, but Seattle didn't. She relocated back to San Diego and is continuing on her ceramics journey in her garage studio.

The namesake of Saffron Ceramics comes from Mallori's dog, Saffron. Saffron is a 9 year old Jindo mix. The best dog. If you're around Encinitas you'll likely see Mallori and Saffron on a walk with Ramin (Mallori's husband) and Bowser (their 2nd dog). Don't tell Bowser Saffron is the favorite. <3
